ABOUT THE SCIENCE FACTORY

The Science Factory's mission is to engage, excite, and inspire children to explore science, technology and humanity. A hands-on museum for children ages 2-14, the Science Factory features science-focused exhibits, a planetarium, enrichment classes, and summer camps. An active partner with area school districts, the Science Factory is a popular destination for field trips.

Set in Alton Baker Park, in a building that is owned outright by the museum, the Science Factory uses its surroundings to full advantage, incorporating the park's ponds and meadows into its summer camps and educational programs. A premium location adjacent to the University of Oregon's Autzen Stadium gives the Science Factory great visibility as well as an ample source of revenue from the sale of football game parking.

The Science Factory has served multiple generations since opening in 1961, and is currently preparing to better meet the community's needs now and in the future.
