Amazing Animals Week 2, AM Learn about the worlds of insects, reptiles, birds, and sea life in this wild camp. Go on an insect safari, touch real shark teeth, and get up close and personal with Renegade, our iguana mascot. Eyes, Nose, Ears, Toes Week 4, AM FULL Discover how your body works and how to take care of it. Listen to your heart and learn about circulation. Find out what makes you unique as we take a close look at your fingerprints. Explore your five senses while having fun doing hands-on science projects. Science Kaleidoscope Week 1, AM Week 5, AM Find out how much fun the world can be when you think like a scientist. From magnets to magnifiers, astronauts to owls, and trees to tornadoes, we'll cover all kinds of science and make some fun take-home crafts. Splish-Splash Week 3, AM FULL Week 9, AM FULL Explore the wonders of water while conducting super-soaked experiments. Play with cloud-filled bubbles and see if you can make a bubble that's larger than you are. We'll also use water to grow our own plants. You will get wet, so bring a change of dry clothes.

Campers should have the ability to manipulate scissors and simple puzzles. Bridges & Buildings Week 4, AM Get into the exciting world of engineering! Learn how bridges stay up, and what could make them fall down. Plan and build your own examples of truss and suspension bridges. Find out about structures that make buildings taller, stronger, and more useful. Crazy Critters Week 1, PM FULL Week 4, PM Spend some time learning about interesting creatures that you don't see every day. Meet some live insects and reptiles, feed a carnivorous plant, see what snake skin looks like under a microscope, and find out if see monkeys have anything to do with real monkeys. Dino Diggers Week 1, AM FULL Week 8, AM Week 9, AM FULL Explore the exciting world of dinosaurs. Go on a fossil dig, build a model of a pteranodon skeleton that you can take home, and figure out just how big and fierce a T. Rex was. We'll even have "living fossil" sea creatures from the age of dinosaurs right in the classroom with us. Jolts & Volts Week 5, AM You're in for some shocking discoveries as we investigate the fascinating world of electricity. Have a hair-raising experience with our static electricity generator, test household appliances to see how much energy they use, and enjoy a cookie baked in a solar-powered oven. Pirates of the Willamette * Week 7, PM Time to set sail, mateys! Climb aboard this camp to explore the science and technology of sailing the seas. Float a sailing ship on our water table and see how it reacts to wind changes. Learn to navigate using the stars. Take a trip to Splash! Lively Park Swim Center to put your water skills to the test. Don’t forget your captain's hat! Pop! Fizz! Bang! * Week 5, PM Week 9, PM Pump up the volume with a variety of extreme experiments as you learn more about chemistry, biology, and earth science. From chemical reactions to geodes to wild weather, this camp has science covered! Science Superstars (G) Week 3 (for girls only), AM FULL Week 7, AM Explore the world while thinking like a scientist. Bake a snack using solar energy, follow a grain of sand from a mountain to the ocean, find out how different animals make their homes, and more. Wear Your Body Week 3, PM Here's a fun way to learn about what's inside your body: wear it on the outside! Let's see... your brain can be a hat, and maybe you can wear your esophagus as a necktie... join this camp to find out how your other parts fall into place.

Campers should have the ability to read and work independently on projects after receiving directions. Astronaut Adventures Week 2, PM Week 7, AM FULL Explore the solar system and beyond in a space camp that's out of this world! Make your own telescope to explore faraway stars, planets, and galaxies. Learn how astronauts survive in outer space. Then stand back as you launch your own rockets! Computer Whiz Kids Week 5, AM The perfect beginner's course in computers. Learn the basics about hardware, software, making your own computer art, and surfing the Internet. Join in the fun as we explore the world of computers through educational programs and kid-friendly websites. Energize! Week 7, PM What is energy? How do we harness it? How do we use it? This camp examines the many different choices we have in powering our lives, from hydroelectric dams to solar-powered cars to our own two feet. Visit the Leaburg Dam, bake with the sun, and use a bicycle to run a blender. Harry Potter Science Week 2, AM FULL Week 3, PM (ages 7-11 combined) Week 8, AM FULL Welcome to the Science Factory campus of Hogwarts, muggles! We'll teach you all of the essentials: charms, potions, and herbology. Make things levitate and move without touching them. Mix potions that bubble, ooze, and foam. Discover real plants that eat insects. Explore the real science principles behind the magic of Harry Potter. Mad Scientists’ Lab (G) Week 4, AM (for girls only) Week 8, PM FULL Does it fizz, bubble, or ooze? Is it a solid, liquid, or gas? Get chemically creative throughout this exciting week of experiments as we use normal household items to examine physical and chemical changes. Rockhounds Week 4, PM Discover the intriguing world of rocks, minerals, and fossils. Grow and observe several crystal formations. Discover the many minerals and metals in our daily lives. Participate in a fossil dig, and hear from special guest geologists about their work. Super Computer Whiz Kids Week 6, PM For kids who already know how to use the Internet, save a file, and make a drawing on their computer, there's much more to learn! We'll use Google Earth to see your house from space, explore programs that let you do fun tricks with photographs, make a CD of songs with your own label and cover, and more. Underwater Journey Week 5, PM Take a trip to the ocean without leaving Eugene! Learn how scuba divers survive the extreme pressure and chilling temperature of the deep ocean. Examine sea creatures big and small, from wondrous whales to tiny starfish. Play with real shark teeth while learning about ocean food chains.

Computer Geek Week (G) Week 5, PM (for girls only) Week 7, AM In this camp, we'll explore the computer as an educational tool through hands-on projects. Use Google Earth to explore everything from your own backyard to the solar system. Create an eye-catching slideshow on iMovie, test and rate games on the internet, and more. CSI: Science Factory * Week 1, PM Week 6, PM Use deductive reasoning and scientific methods to uncover facts at a Science Factory crime scene. We'll learn about the methods of evidence collection, as well as the tools and techniques that forensic scientists use to solve mysteries. All clues point to a spine-tingling, crime-busting camp! Movies & Music Week 7, PM FULL This computer camp is an introduction to GarageBand and iMovie, two Mac applications that make it easy to combine music tracks, pictures, and video. We'll learn how to put them all together to make our own music videos.

Entering 6th-9th grade. Campers should have the ability to initiate and follow through on complex projects. Advanced Movie Makers Week 8, full day For kids already familiar with Mac's iMovie software, this all-day, computer-based class will allow you to jump right into moviemaking while learning some new techniques with green screens, special effects, sound, and editing. Digital camcorder recommended, but not required. Movie Makers Week 2, full day This all-day, computer-based class will fire up your imagination as we introduce you to the creative possibilities of Mac's iMovie software. We'll examine the basic elements of film production, including storyboarding, set design, costuming, makeup, filming, and editing as you create your own movie. Digital camcorder recommended, but not required. Nanotechnology in Our World Week 6, PM Week 9, AM The future of science is small! In recent years scientists have learned how to build new structures, materials, and machines on the scale of individual atoms and molecules. This work in nanotechnology has implications for medicine, electronics, energy, and more. Learn about some amazing new applications on the cutting edge of science, and build some of your own nano-structures. Programming in Scratch Week 4, full day Okay, so you can surf the web, write a term paper, and play online games. But can you really tell your computer how to do something? We'll learn how computer programs work by writing our own interactive games in Scratch, a very user-friendly learning language developed at MIT. Web Designers Week 3, full day FULL Learn the skills necessary to be a webmaster while creating your own awesome website. Learn how to develop eye-catching web designs.
