"The Science Factory is a vibrant and colorful place. It is full of fun exhibits and hands-on activities. The building is always bustling with giddy children running from fun thing to fun thing. It's a stellar place to volunteer. They keep you busy, but not bored, and you're always doing something different."

Peter Qualtere-Burcher
Senior, Churchill High School

We Have A Place Just For You!
Your smile, your skills, your inquisitive imagination, and your time–we value and welcome you. As a volunteer, you might be placed in any one of the following activities –we can always keep you busy!

Factory Factologist
A guiding hand, a helpful instructor, a little bit of trivia or a gentle reminder -we need you to help assist our museum visitors through their experience with a twinkle in your eye!

Birthday Buddy
Keep our birthday parties fun and rolling. We're always looking for an extra pair of hands to help out on the biggest day of every child's year.

Field Trip Friend
The school bus pulls in and we pull out the stops. Our museum is continually visited by gobs of kids coming from every corner of Oregon. Work during normal business hours -- great for U-O student schedules or seniors.

Planetarium Pal
Our Planetarium Director needs help ushering for shows, in addition to creating a top-knotch work space behind the dome. You'll become our own personal star!

Facilities Fixer
Carpentry, grounds maintenance, painting, mechanics....we always need something to be fixed or repaired to keep the museum humming.

Aide-de-Summer Camp
Our Summer Adventures Camps are jam-packed with activity and fun. Help teachers in the classroom, assist in supervising our many excursions out and about and share your knowledge with eager minds.

Classroom Captains
During the school year, we keep teaching even when school is not in session. Magic School Bus classes - every class can use an eager enthusiast for learning. Gain practical experience in the classroom and have fun at the same time!

Festival/Event Ambassadors

The Science Factory is in demand at community and special events. Help run our booths, interact with the public and carry forward the mission of the museum to create a lifelong love of learning for all kids.

Office Organizer
Folding, stuffing, color-coding...you get the idea. Some people love a clean, manila envelope. Is it you?

Student Internships in Grant Writing, Public Relations, Education, Exhibits
The Science Factory can assist in arranging college credit for a continued volunteer commitment in one of our departments to assist in your learning practicum experience.

Special Skills Volunteer
Storytellers, face-painters, musicians, puppeteers and especially science know-how always appreciated.
